PERU - CRUISING THE AMAZON RIVER is the new WebGuide created following the previous about Slovenia, Norway and others.


This WebGuide is dedicated to our experience made some years ago in the wonderful area of The Amazon River basin. We started from Iquitos, capital town of Peruvian Amazon region, and we went upriver to the river's source. In the while we paid a short visit to Pacaya-Samiria national reserve and a little indigenous community. Back to Iquitos we strolled along the town streets, harbour and stilt houses then we join the cruise on the Amazon river downward to Leticia-Tabatinga-Santa Rosa a triangle borders with Peru,Brazil,Colombia... we followed the cruise for 2 days till Pebas, the oldest Amazon village in Peru. Here we used a motor boat to make some excursion along the river Ampiyacu and other side rivers. We also visited a Huitoto village &...

The Sacred Pilgrimage across the Andes

The dew that morning didn't want evaporate frosting around our tent while the wind breeze made us shivering a bit...the night was calm without storm and the sun down at the horizon let us enjoy a very unique picture...a belt of clouds encircling the old 12 fountained temple just down our feet create an ethereal picture, a deep emotion never forgotten since then... some carriers or portadores started leaving "Phuyupatamarca - The place over the clouds" to continue the trek, Machu Picchu was waiting some km further. Tayra likes papaya chopped

It was midsummer, humidity in the area made the walk very hard that day, so we decided to not live the lodge and film around without much stressing.
Peru is a fantastic land with many surprises each step and the Tambopata-Candamo reserve is a terrific biosphere with thousand of butterfly, moths, birds, animals and countless species of flowers.
But nonetheless step back to our report and see what happen.
A friend of us, biologist volunteer decided to make an experiment to give us the chance of shooting a wonderful show.
We take one good size papaya, we chopped and lay it on a broken wooden bench.
